I have a short layover in Kutaisi and prefer taking things slow instead of rushing through a checklist. Which one or two spots should I focus on?

For a relaxed stop without rushing, focusing on the historic sites is your best option. Gelati Monastery and Motsameta Monastery are key highlights of Kutaisi that allow for an unhurried visit rather than trying to fit in multiple stops like Geguti Palace or the caves. If you are flying through KUT during the best seasons in April to May or August to September, the weather is pleasant for exploring Gelati Monastery and the surrounding scenery at a comfortable pace.
