I'm squeezing a quick long weekend trip to Liège and arriving really early. What sights or areas are best to explore first thing in the morning?

Starting your first morning with a walk along the Ourthe River is a great way to take in the city before indoor venues open. Major architectural landmarks in Liège include the Prince-Bishops' Palace, Liège Cathedral, St. James' Church, and St. Bartholomew's Church, all of which are worth viewing from the outside. You can also pass by the Royal Opera of Wallonia as you explore the central sights on a short weekend itinerary.
