Wong Amat Beach
Wong Amat Beach is a beach in Na Kluea in northern Pattaya on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, 165 kilometres (103 mi) from Bangkok in Chonburi Province. The beach is located on the Nakluea Bay peninsula. The beach is 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) long. Unlike Pattaya Beach, there is no beach road running along it.

Wong Amat Beach is a stretch of sand at the northern end of Pattaya, on the Nakluea Bay peninsula, about 1.3 kilometres long. Because no beach road runs along it, the shoreline is quieter and less commercial than Pattaya Beach further south, backed mainly by condominiums and hotels rather than a strip of bars and stalls. It suits travellers who want a swim or a walk on the sand without the vendor traffic of the main beach.
Getting there
From central Pattaya, Wong Amat Beach is roughly a 15 to 20 minute ride by songthaew (shared baht bus) or taxi, heading north through Naklua. There's no beach road access, so most routes bring you to a side street or hotel entrance and you walk the last stretch to the sand.
How long to spend
An hour or two is enough for a swim and a walk along the full length of the beach. It's not a destination that needs a half or full day unless you're staying at a nearby hotel and using it as a base.
When to go
Mornings and late afternoons are more comfortable, avoiding the strongest midday sun. The beach is generally calmer than Pattaya Beach, though it can still fill up on weekends and Thai holidays. Like the rest of the Gulf coast, the rainy season (roughly May to October) brings a higher chance of showers.
Combine it with
- North Point - Tower A (0.2km) — right beside the beach, useful as a landmark if arriving by taxi.
- All Saints Church (0.8km) — a short walk away, worth pairing with a beach visit.
- Sanctuary of Truth (1.5km) — the wooden temple structure nearby makes a natural next stop.
- Ao Phatthaya (3km) — the wider Pattaya Bay area if you want to continue south afterward.
