Antigua Guatemala: Standalone or part of a route?

Guest 1 month ago 186 views

I'm planning a trip to Guatemala and can't decide if I should spend my whole time in Antigua Guatemala or just visit it as a stop on a longer route. Is there enough to see there to justify a dedicated trip?

Antigua Guatemala offers several significant sights, including the Antigua Guatemala Cathedral, La Merced Church, San Francisco Church, and the Church and Convent of Society of Jesus. You can also visit the National Museum of Guatemalan Art and see Volcán de Agua. Whether it is a standalone trip or a stop depends on your pace, but the best time to visit is between November and April. The city is accessible via La Aurora International Airport (GUA).
