Kaptavank Monastery
Kaptavank is a 12th-century medieval monastery located on a hill above Kaputan village at an elevation of 1,800 meters. Visitors go here to see the remaining stone walls of the structure, which was built using a distinct bluish basalt. The site is situated within a landscape of forests and valleys.
Getting There
The site is located near Abovyan. Access from the city center typically requires a vehicle due to the elevation and rural location. The drive takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on road conditions.
