Overview

Founded in 1963 and opened to the public in 1965, the Museum of Science and Technology is managed by the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board. It traces the history of scientific and technical development in Ghana. Visitors go to see exhibits of mechanical equipment, transport artifacts, and historical technology.

Getting There

The venue is located in central Accra. A taxi or ride-hailing trip from the city centre takes about 10 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Local minibuses (trotros) serving the central district also stop within walking distance.

When to Visit

Mornings are best to avoid the afternoon heat and central traffic congestion. The galleries are generally uncrowded, though occasional school tours take place during weekday terms.
