Terra Sancta Church
Overview
Terra Sancta Church is a Franciscan Catholic church located in the historic Old City of Acre. Visitors go to view its traditional ecclesiastical architecture and to understand the Christian heritage that exists alongside the area's Ottoman-era sites.
Getting There
The church stands in the pedestrian alleys of Old Acre. From the modern city centre, it is roughly a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride to the Old City perimeter, followed by a short walk through the stone lanes.
Time to Allow
Plan to spend 20 to 30 minutes on site. This allows enough time to view the interior sanctuary, courtyards, and exterior details.
When to Go
Morning and early afternoon offer the best daylight. Spring and autumn provide milder temperatures for walking compared to the hot summer months. The interior rarely gets congested, though foot traffic in the alleys increases on weekends. Avoid arriving during religious services unless attending worship.
