Overview

The Atal Pedestrian Bridge is a footbridge spanning the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad. Opened in 2022, the structure features a triangular truss design inspired by kite forms. Travellers visit to walk between the riverbanks and view the river and surrounding promenade from an elevated position.

Located on the Sabarmati Riverfront, the site is accessible from central Ahmedabad by auto-rickshaw or taxi. The journey typically takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic.

When to Visit

Late afternoon and early evening are the best times to visit to avoid midday heat. The walkway gets very crowded on weekend evenings and holidays, so go on a weekday for a quieter walk.
