Stanley
Overview
Stanley is a coastal neighborhood in Alexandria situated along the Corniche. It is centered around a 400-meter bridge that spans a small bay, paired with an adjacent beach. Travellers visit to walk along the pedestrian walkway overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, observe the coastal architecture, or access the waterfront for swimming.
Getting There
The area lies east of downtown Alexandria. You can reach it via taxi, ride-hailing services, or public transport along the Corniche road. The drive from the city center generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Time to Spend
Plan for roughly 45 minutes to an hour for a straightforward walk across the bridge and along the promenade. If you plan to spend time on the sand or visit nearby cafes, allow 2 to 3 hours.
When to Visit
Late afternoon and early evening are practical times to visit for cooler temperatures and sea breezes. The area becomes crowded on summer evenings and weekends, leading to heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Winter months bring cooler, windy conditions and fewer people.
