The Grachtengordel is the historic canal district of Amsterdam, consisting of a ring of canals including the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht. Built during the 17th century, this area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Getting There

The district is located within the central part of Amsterdam. If you are staying in the city centre, most areas of the canal ring are accessible on foot within 5 to 15 minutes. Public transport, including trams, serves the perimeter and interior of the district.
