Coma Pedrosa

Coma Pedrosa is the highest peak in Andorra. It is primarily visited by climbers and hikers who use the established trekking routes to reach the summit. The ascent passes through slopes featuring several alpine lakes.

Getting There

The trailhead is located outside the center of Andorra la Vella. Access requires a vehicle to reach the mountain base. Depending on the specific starting point and traffic, the drive from the city center typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes.

Time Commitment

Reaching the summit and returning is a full-day activity. Hikers should allow at least 6 to 8 hours to complete the round trip, depending on their pace and the weather conditions.

When to Visit

The best time to visit is during the summer months when the trails are clear of heavy snow. It is advisable to start the hike early in the morning to ensure a safe descent before sunset. The route can become crowded during peak summer weekends and public holidays.

Nearby Points of Interest

The area around the peak offers several other natural sites that can be combined with a visit:

  • Pic de Baiau (0.4km)
  • Riu d'Arinsal (0.8km)
  • Pic de Sanfonts (1.4km)
  • Estany de les Truites (1.6km)
