Overview

Lake Engolasters is a glacial lake located at an elevation of 1,600 meters near Andorra la Vella. Its elongated basin is framed by pine forests and mountain slopes. Visitors go for easy walking paths around the perimeter and open views of the Pyrenees.

Getting There

The lake is a 15 to 20-minute drive from Andorra la Vella city centre via the CS-200 road. Hikers can also ascend via marked trails from the valley, which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours uphill.

Time to Allow

Plan for 1 to 2 hours. The circuit path around the shore takes about 45 minutes to walk at a casual pace.

When to Go

Visit between late spring and autumn for clear, snow-free walking paths. Summer weekends and midday hours attract local crowds, making parking tight; early mornings are much quieter. In winter, expect cold temperatures and snowy paths.
