What It Is

St. Teresa Catholic Church is an active place of worship located in Ankara's historic district, dedicated to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. It is one of only two churches in the city where regular Catholic Mass is held. Travellers visit primarily to attend services or to see a functioning Christian site in the capital.

Getting There

The church is situated in the Ulus quarter near the citadel. From central areas like Kızılay, take the metro to Ulus station or take a city bus. Travel takes roughly 15 to 25 minutes, followed by a short walk uphill through the old streets.

Daytime is best to combine with walking around the historic quarter. The church rarely experiences crowds, though local attendance increases during weekend services. Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is recommended.
