Overview
Volcán de Agua is an extinct volcano rising to 3,760 meters near Antigua Guatemala. It forms a prominent landmark visible across the city on clear days. Travelers visit to hike the mountain trails, observe high-altitude volcanic terrain, and view the surrounding valley from above.
Getting There
The base sits south of the city center. Reaching the main trailheads takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes by taxi, local bus, or private vehicle.

A round-trip hike to the summit takes between 6 and 9 hours, requiring a full day. Visitors touring only the lower slopes and viewpoints should set aside 2 to 3 hours.
When to Visit
