Istana Darussalam
Overview
Istana Darussalam is a historic royal residence located in Bandar Seri Begawan. It is the birthplace of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and formerly served as the official home of the previous sultan. Now designated as a protected heritage site, it attracts visitors interested in Brunei's royal history and traditional architecture.

The site is situated within central Bandar Seri Begawan. From the city centre, it can be reached on foot in approximately 5 to 10 minutes. A local taxi or car ride from the centre takes under 5 minutes depending on traffic.
