Located at Barra Point at the mouth of the Gambia River, this site consists of the ruins of an old fort. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Kunta Kinteh Island and Related Sites. Getting There
The fort is located across the river from the main city center of Banjul. To reach it, visitors must take a ferry from Banjul to Barra. Once across, local transport can be used to reach the point. The total travel time depends heavily on the ferry schedule and crossing duration.
