Prince Gong's Mansion

Located north of Shichahai Lake, this site is a former princely residence from the late Qing dynasty. It consists of a series of traditional siheyuan (courtyard houses) and landscaped gardens. Visitors go here to see the layout of Qing nobility housing and the ornate architectural details of the period.

Getting There

The mansion is accessible from central Beijing via the subway or taxi. Depending on your starting point in the city center, the journey typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk through the various courtyards and the garden section.

When to Visit

The site gets crowded during national holidays and weekends. To avoid the largest crowds, arrive early in the morning. The gardens are most distinct during the spring and autumn seasons.
