Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace

Located within the grounds of the Bangalore Fort, this Indo-Islamic structure served as the summer residence for Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore. Visitors go here to see the architectural style of the era, characterized by teakwood pillars and ornate arches. The site is now functions as a heritage museum preserving the history of the Mysore kingdom.

Getting There

The palace is located in the central part of Bengaluru. From the city centre, it is accessible via auto-rickshaws or ride-sharing apps. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the palace grounds and view the interior exhibits.

When to Visit

The site is open during the day. To avoid the strongest heat and the largest crowds, visiting in the early morning is recommended. The weather is most temperate from October to February. The area can become crowded during public holidays and weekends.
