Velushka Tumba

Velushka Tumba is a Neolithic archaeological site located near the village of Porodin. It serves as a point of interest for those studying early human settlements in the region. While the site itself marks the location of the ancient settlement, the physical artifacts recovered during the 1978 excavations—including pottery and stone tools—are housed and displayed at the Bitola Museum.

Getting There

The site is located outside the city of Bitola. Visitors typically reach the area by car or local transport heading toward the village of Porodin. The drive from the city centre typically takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions.

Visit Duration

Because the site is an open archaeological location rather than a developed museum complex, most visitors spend about 30 to 60 minutes exploring the grounds. To see the actual findings, additional time should be allocated for a visit to the Bitola Museum in the city.

Planning Your Visit

The site is an outdoor area, making it most accessible during the spring and autumn months when temperatures are moderate. It does not typically experience large crowds, offering a quiet environment for exploration.
