Overview

Usaquén is a neighborhood in northern Bogotá that was an independent town until it was incorporated into the city in 1954. It preserves a distinct town-like layout centered around a plaza, filled with cafes, boutiques, and restaurants. Travellers visit to walk the cobblestone streets, browse retail shops, and stop at dining spots.

Getting There

From Bogotá's city centre, the area is reachable by taxi, ride-hailing services, or public bus. The journey north takes approximately 45 to 80 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend 2 to 4 hours. This provides enough time to walk the main streets, browse the shops, and have a meal or coffee.

When to Go

Sundays are the most popular days due to outdoor street stalls, and the area becomes heavily crowded. Weekdays offer a much quieter experience for walking and shopping. Evenings throughout the week are common for dining. Bogotá has cool weather with frequent rain, so bring a jacket and an umbrella regardless of the month.

Nearby Combinations

You can pair a visit with other spots in northern Bogotá:

  • El Chicó (2.3km)
  • 93 Park (2.8km)
  • Bogotá Colombia Temple (3.1km)
  • Parque El Virrey (3.6km)
