The Botanical Garden of the Comenius University is Bratislava's only botanical garden, located in the Karlova Ves district. Maintained for scientific research and public visits, the site features more than 4,000 plant species across outdoor grounds and greenhouses. It provides a quiet setting for a walk among diverse flora.

Getting There

From the city centre, you can take a direct tram westward along the river. The ride takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to the stop located right outside the grounds.

Time to Allow

Allow 1 to 2 hours to tour both the outdoor pathways and the greenhouse sections at a comfortable pace.

When to Visit

Spring and summer are the most practical seasons to visit, as outdoor plants are in bloom. The grounds are rarely crowded, making any time of day suitable for a quiet visit, though mornings offer cooler temperatures during summer.
