Esterházy Palace

Located in the Old Town of Bratislava on the banks of the Danube, this Neo-Renaissance building served as a residence for the Esterházy family. Visitors go here to view the architecture of the palace and explore its historical significance within the city's urban landscape. It previously functioned as the home of the Slovak National Gallery.

Getting There

The palace is situated within the pedestrian-friendly Old Town. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short walk of approximately 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your starting point.

Visit Duration

Allow roughly 1 to 2 hours to view the exterior and explore the immediate grounds and interior spaces.

When to Visit

The palace is accessible throughout the year. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during weekday mornings. Like most central attractions in Bratislava, it becomes more crowded during weekends and peak summer tourist seasons.

Nearby Attractions

Due to its central location, the palace can be combined with several other sites within walking distance:

  • Slovak National Gallery (0.1km)
  • Hviezdoslavovo námestie (0.2km)
  • Slovak National Museum (0.3km)
  • Johann Pálffy Palace (0.3km)
