Egmont Palace

The Egmont Palace is a 16th-century Neoclassical building in Brussels. It currently serves as a reception venue for the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Because it is an active government facility, visitors can only be viewed from the exterior. Travelers visit this site to observe its architectural style and historical facade.

Getting There

The palace is located in the city center of Brussels. From the central pedestrian areas, it is accessible via a short walk or a brief trip by public transport, typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes depending on your starting point.

Time Allocation

Since access is limited to the exterior of the building, you only need a short amount of time here. 15 to 30 minutes is generally sufficient to view the architecture and the surrounding grounds.

When to Visit

The site can be visited at any time of year. Daylight hours are recommended to clearly see the Neoclassical details of the facade. As it is not a primary tourist interior attraction, it does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the city's museums.

Nearby Attractions

Due to its central location, the palace is easy to combine with other nearby sites within walking distance:

  • Church of Our Lady of Victories at the Sablon (0.2km)
  • Matongé (0.3km)
  • Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (0.3km)
  • Jewish Museum of Belgium (0.4km)
