Sveti Nikola Island
Overview
Sveti Nikola Island is an offshore island located in the Adriatic Sea just across from Budva, Montenegro. Travellers visit to swim in clear coastal waters and relax on pebble beaches away from the busy mainland waterfront.
Getting There
The island is reached by small shuttle boats or water taxis departing from the Budva marina near Old Town. The boat trip takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
Recommended Time
Plan to spend 2 to 4 hours on the island, which allows adequate time for swimming and walking along the open beach areas before returning.
When to Go
Visit between late spring and early autumn when boat services operate regularly. The island gets crowded during peak summer months (July and August), particularly in the afternoon. Visiting in the morning helps avoid peak crowds and intense midday heat.
