BAP Abtao
Overview
BAP Abtao is a decommissioned Peruvian Navy submarine preserved as a museum ship in Callao. Built in the United States in the 1950s and later renamed to honor the Battle of the Chincha Islands, the vessel allows visitors inside its compartments, control room, and torpedo bays to observe mid-20th-century naval life.
Getting There
Located on the Callao waterfront, it is reachable by taxi, rideshare, or bus from central Lima or downtown Callao. Driving from central Lima typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.

Set aside 45 to 75 minutes to tour the interior and exhibits.
When to Go
