Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Merced

Founded in 1535 by the Mercedarian order, this Baroque basilica is a historic religious site in Peru. Visitors go here to see the Churrigueresque architectural decoration and the statue of Our Lady of Mercy, who is the patroness of the Peruvian army.
