Overview

Chișinău Zoo is an outdoor zoological park managed in partnership with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. It features animal enclosures, walkways, and ponds hosting regional and exotic species. Travellers visit primarily for family-friendly walks and wildlife observation in a green setting.

Getting There

Located in the southern Botanica district, the site is accessible from central Chișinău via trolleybus or bus in 20 to 30 minutes. A taxi ride from downtown takes about 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Allow about 1.5 to 2.5 hours to tour the enclosures and walking trails.

When to Visit

Spring through early autumn is best for pleasant walking conditions and outdoor animal activity. The park gets crowded with families on weekends and public holidays; weekday mornings are much quieter.
