Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian
About the Cathedral
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian is the main Catholic church of Cochabamba, situated directly on Plaza 14 de Septiembre. Visitors go to examine its historic architecture and stone facade at the center of the city.
Getting There
Located in the city center on the primary square, it is accessible on foot within a few minutes from most downtown locations. From Jorge Wilstermann International Airport (CBB), a taxi ride to the plaza takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Time to Allow
Plan for 30 to 45 minutes to view both the exterior and the interior.
When to Go
Morning visits usually offer a quieter environment. The surrounding square becomes crowded around midday, late afternoon, and during religious services. Dry winter months (May to October) offer the most reliable weather for walking downtown.
