Ovidiu Island
Overview
Ovidiu Island is a small landmass in Lake Siutghiol, located about 500 meters from the shore near Mamaia. Visitors travel here for a quiet stop on the freshwater lake, views across the water, and a short boat trip.
Getting There
From central Constanța, head north toward Mamaia by car, taxi, or local bus to reach the lakefront departure points, taking roughly 15 to 25 minutes. From the pier, small passenger boats cross the 500-meter channel.
Time to Spend
Allow 1 to 2 hours. Due to the compact size of the grounds, this leaves ample time for the return boat transfer and a short walk.
When to Go
Late spring to early autumn brings the best weather for boat crossings. Summer is the busiest season due to holiday traffic in Mamaia; visit on weekdays or during shoulder months for fewer crowds. Windy days should be avoided as choppy water can suspend boat service.
