The Elysian is a modern tower complex completed in 2008. As the tallest building in Cork, it defines the downtown skyline and marks a distinct contrast to the city's older low-rise architecture. The site sits just southeast of central Cork. Walking from major downtown areas such as St. Patrick's Street takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes on foot by following the river quays eastward.

Plan to spend about 15 to 30 minutes in the area, which provides enough time to walk around the exterior and view the tower from different angles along the waterfront.

When to Visit

Clear daylight hours are best for appreciating the building's exterior and scale, while dusk offers views of the illuminated tower against the evening sky. Sidewalks and outdoor viewing points around the base do not get heavily crowded.
