About the Venue
Teatro Guaíra is a major performing arts venue on Praça Santos Andrade in Curitiba. Built in 1945, the complex features three halls and roughly 3,000 seats, ranking among the largest in Latin America. Travellers visit primarily to attend concerts, ballets, and plays, or to view the building while exploring the historic centre.
Getting There
Located in the city centre, the theatre is a 5 to 10-minute walk from nearby central landmarks. Local bus routes and taxis drop off directly around Praça Santos Andrade.
Time to Spend
Allow 2 to 3 hours if attending a performance. If you are only viewing the building facade and plaza from the outside, 20 to 30 minutes is adequate.
When to Go
Evenings are standard for stage productions. The lobby and exterior entrances get crowded just before showtime and immediately following a performance.
