About the Arda River

The Arda is a 290-kilometer river originating in Bulgaria's Rhodope Mountains, flowing through Greece, and converging with the Maritsa River just west of Edirne. Travellers visit the riverbanks to observe the natural convergence area, walk along the waterfront, and view the open border landscape.

From central Edirne, the river area lies a short distance to the southwest. Reaching the riverbanks typically takes 10 to 15 minutes by car or taxi, or approximately 30 to 45 minutes on foot depending on your specific access point.
