Kadı Bedreddin Mosque

The Kadı Bedreddin Mosque is an early 16th-century religious structure in Edirne. It was commissioned by Mevlana Bedreddin Mahmud Efendi, a local judge (kadi) during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. Visitors go here to observe Ottoman-era architectural styles and the layout of a historical neighborhood mosque.

The mosque is located within the city of Edirne. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or a walk of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your starting point.

Allow roughly 30 to 45 minutes to view the exterior and interior of the building.

When to Visit

Visiting during the morning or late afternoon provides softer light for viewing the architecture. As it is an active place of worship, avoid visiting during the five daily prayer times to ensure you do not disrupt worshippers. The site generally does not experience the heavy crowds found at the city's larger imperial mosques.
