Farol da Ponta Norte
Located at the northernmost tip of Sal Island, this landmark is a maritime lighthouse. The current structure is a 5-meter-tall iron tower, replacing an original building from 1897 that was rebuilt several times. Travelers visit this site to see the lighthouse and the surrounding coastal landscape where the land meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Getting There
The lighthouse is located outside the main urban area of Espargos. Access is typically via rental car or taxi. The drive from the city center takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on road conditions.

Because the site consists of a small tower and the immediate shoreline, most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes here.
When to Visit
Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The site is generally quiet and does not experience the heavy crowds found at the island's main beach resorts.
