Overview

Korenlei is a historic quay situated along the left bank of the Leie River in Ghent's old town. Located directly opposite the Graslei quay, it serves as an open promenade for walking along the water and viewing the historic architecture on the facing bank.

Getting There

The quay lies in the heart of the city centre. From central spots like Korenmarkt, it is a straightforward walk taking less than five minutes on foot.

Time to Spend

Allow around 20 to 45 minutes to stroll along the waterfront, observe the canals, or sit by the riverbank.

When to Visit

Late afternoon and evening provide clear light across the water onto the opposite facades, which are illuminated after dark. The promenade often gets crowded during sunny afternoons, weekends, and summer months. Visit during the morning for a quieter walk with fewer people around.
