Hadum Mosque

Overview

Hadum Mosque is a 16th-century Ottoman place of worship located on the historic market street in Gjakova, Kosovo. Commissioned by Hadum Aga, it serves as a central architectural feature of the town's traditional bazaar. Travellers visit to observe its historical architecture and experience its setting within the surrounding old market quarter.

Getting There

The site is situated in the old bazaar district. From the central area of Gjakova, it is accessible on foot within a 5 to 10-minute walk. Travellers arriving by air generally land at Pristina International Airport (PRN) and continue to Gjakova by road.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend between 30 and 45 minutes exploring the interior, the surrounding courtyard, and the immediate grounds.

When to Go

Daylight hours provide the best conditions for viewing the exterior and interior details. Because the mosque remains an active religious site, avoid times during scheduled prayer services—particularly Friday midday prayers—when access for non-worshippers may be limited. Modest attire covering shoulders and knees is appropriate.
