Torre Morisca

The Torre Morisca is a landmark clock tower located in downtown Guayaquil. Reconstructed into its current form in 1931, the structure serves as a historical architecture and a point of orientation for those walking through the city center. Travelers visit the tower to observe its Moorish-style design and as a brief stop during a tour of the central district.

Getting There

The tower is situated within the city center. If you are staying in the downtown area, it is accessible via a short walk. From the main central plazas, it typically takes less than 10 minutes to reach on foot.

Time Requirement

Because the attraction is primarily an external landmark, visitors generally spend 15 to 30 minutes here to view the architecture and take photographs.

When to Visit

The tower is best visited during daylight hours for clear visibility of the facade. Like most central landmarks, it can become crowded during local holidays or weekend afternoons. To avoid the midday heat, early morning or late afternoon visits are recommended.

Nearby Attractions

The tower is centrally located, making it easy to combine with other nearby sites within walking distance:

  • Parque Seminario: 0.4km
  • Luis Adolfo Noboa Naranjo Museum: 0.4km
  • Basilica La Merced: 0.4km
  • Guayaquil Metropolitan Cathedral: 0.5km
