The Israel Railway Museum is located at the historic Haifa East railway station site. Housed in and around the original station building, it documents the development of the region's rail network through preserved rolling stock, historic equipment, and transport artifacts. Getting There

The site is situated east of downtown Haifa. From the Haifa Center HaShmona area or central lower town, it takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes on foot, or approximately 5 to 10 minutes by local bus or taxi.

Allow between 1 and 2 hours for a standard visit. This allows enough time to inspect the locomotives, walk among the train cars, and view the indoor displays.

When to Visit

Visiting earlier in the day is recommended, especially during the summer, as part of the collection is situated outdoors. The venue is rarely crowded, making for a quiet visit, though organized school groups may occasionally visit during weekday mornings.
