Thu Thiem Bridge
Thu Thiem Bridge
This six-lane bridge connects the central business district of Ho Chi Minh City with the Thu Thao Dien and Thu Thiem urban areas. Travelers visit this location primarily to view the city skyline and the river from an elevated vantage point, as it provides a clear line of sight toward the downtown skyscrapers.
Getting There
The bridge is located on the edge of District 1. From the city center, it is accessible via taxi, ride-sharing apps, or motorbike. Depending on traffic conditions, the trip typically takes 5 to 15 minutes from the central core.
Duration of Visit
Most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes here. This allows enough time to walk a portion of the bridge and observe the surrounding urban development and river views.
When to Visit
Late afternoon and early evening are the most common times to visit, as the city lights become visible. The area can get crowded with locals and photographers during sunset. To avoid intense heat and heavy traffic congestion, avoid visiting during the midday peak.
Nearby Attractions
Because of its central location, the bridge can be combined with several other sites within a short distance:
- Landmark 81 (1.1km)
- Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History (1.1km)
- Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens (1.5km)
- Vietcombank Tower (1.8km)
