Overview

Bucium Monastery is a Romanian Orthodox complex situated on Bucium Hill in Iași, dedicated to the saints of Mount Athos. Visitors come to see traditional church architecture and experience a working monastic setting in a quiet hillside environment outside the city.

Getting There

From central Iași, driving or taking a taxi takes 15 to 20 minutes. Public buses also run toward the Bucium district, followed by a short uphill walk to the entrance.

When to Visit

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest. The complex gets crowded during Sunday morning services and major Orthodox holidays. Spring through autumn offers the best walking conditions along the hill.
