Cocoa House

Completed in 1964, this skyscraper served as West Africa's first high-rise building and was previously the tallest structure in Nigeria. Visitors go to this landmark to see a defining piece of Ibadan's architectural history and to observe the city's skyline from an elevated vantage point.

Getting There

The building is located within the urban core of Ibadan. From the city centre, it is accessible via short taxi or ride-share trips, typically taking 10 to 20 minutes depending on local traffic conditions.

Visit Duration

Most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours at the site, which is sufficient time to view the exterior architecture and explore the available observation areas.

When to Visit

Morning visits are recommended to avoid the peak afternoon heat. The site can become crowded during business hours and on public holidays. There are no specific seasonal closures, though the rainy season may affect outdoor accessibility.
