Erlspitze is a 2,405-meter pyramid-shaped summit located in the Karwendel Alps near Innsbruck, Austria. Hikers visit the peak primarily for its wide vantage point over the surrounding alpine terrain.

Getting There

From central Innsbruck, trailheads are reached via regional train or bus towards local stations such as Hochzirl. Transit to the trail base takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes before starting the climb on foot.

Time to Allow

Reaching the summit is a full-day commitment. Plan for 6 to 8 hours to complete the round-trip ascent and descent.

When to Visit

The hiking season runs from summer to early autumn, when paths are clear of snow. Start early in the morning to avoid afternoon storms and heat. Trails see moderate traffic on sunny weekends but are less crowded than peaks with cable car access.
