Heritage & monuments
Qal’at al Bahrain
An archaeological site where layers of different civilizations have accumulated over thousands of years. Once the capital of the ancient Dilmun civilization, it's also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Al Fateh Grand Mosque
Bahrain's foremost grand mosque, capable of holding more than 7,000 worshippers at once. It's named in honor of Ahmed Al Fateh and also houses the National Library.

Beit Al Quran
Beit Al Quran is Bahrain's cultural complex dedicated to Islamic art, centered around an Islamic museum along with a mosque, library, and auditorium. Since opening in 1990, it has offered visitors a broad look at Islamic art and culture.

Bahrain World Trade Center
The Bahrain World Trade Center is a skyscraper in Manama and one of the city's defining landmarks. Strolling the nearby streets, you can take in its distinctive design along with the downtown view, making it well worth a stop on a trip to Manama.

Bahrain National Museum
Bahrain's largest and oldest museum, known for its striking twin-building facade. It offers a great overview of Bahraini history and culture.

Pearl Roundabout
A square and roundabout that once stood near Manama's central financial district. It served as the focal point of the 2011 Bahraini pro-democracy protests, and the Pearl Monument that symbolized the movement was later demolished.
Temples & religious sites
Khamis Mosque
Considered Bahrain's oldest mosque, it is said to have first been built under the Umayyad caliph Umar II. Over the following centuries, minarets were added one by one, giving it its present form.
Castles & palaces
Arad Fort
Arad Fort was built in the 15th century and originally stood on its own separate island. Land reclamation later connected it to Muharraq Island, and it can now be reached by road.
