Overview

The Pakistan Monument is a national landmark and heritage museum on Shakarparian Hill in Islamabad. Built to symbolize the unity of the Pakistani people, the site honors those who devoted themselves to their homeland. Visitors go to see the petal-shaped granite structure, view Islamabad from the elevated terrace, and explore the museum documenting national history.

Getting There

From central Islamabad (such as the Blue Area), the site is reachable by taxi or rideshare in roughly 10 to 20 minutes via Garden Avenue.

Time to Spend

Plan for 1 to 2 hours to walk around the monument plaza and view the museum exhibits.

When to Visit

Late afternoon is practical for viewing the monument in daylight and illuminated at dusk. October through March brings the most pleasant weather for walking outside. It gets crowded on weekends and public holidays.
