Nallur Kandaswamy Devasthanam is a Hindu temple in Nallur, dedicated to the deity Murugan. It is one of the primary pilgrimage sites in northern Sri Lanka. Getting There

The temple is located about 3 kilometres northeast of Jaffna city centre. A tuk-tuk or taxi ride from the centre takes roughly 10 minutes. Local buses running toward Point Pedro also stop nearby.

Time to Allow

Allow 1 to 2 hours for a visit. This allows enough time to view the central compound, walk the perimeter, and explore the subsidiary shrines.

When to Go

Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to visit to avoid midday heat. The site becomes heavily crowded during daily pooja services and annual festival periods. Visitors must remove footwear before entering and wear clothing that covers shoulders and legs.
