Selamat Datang Monument

The Selamat Datang Monument is a public sculpture located at the center of the Hotel Indonesia roundabout in downtown Jakarta. Completed in 1962, it depicts a man and woman waving and holding flowers to welcome guests to the city. Travelers visit this site to see one of the city's primary landmarks and observe the surrounding urban landscape of the central business district.

Getting There

The monument is situated in the heart of Jakarta. Depending on your starting point in the city center, it is accessible via taxi, ride-sharing apps, or the TransJakarta bus system. Travel time typically ranges from 15 to 30 minutes, though this varies significantly based on local traffic conditions.

Visit Duration

Since the monument is located in the middle of a busy traffic circle and is viewed from the perimeter, visitors generally spend 20 to 40 minutes here for photography and sightseeing.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements. Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the midday heat. The area is frequently crowded due to its location in a major commercial hub, particularly during weekday rush hours and weekends.
