Old Train Station in Katowice

This site is the remnant of the original Katowice railway station, constructed in 1859. It ceased its transport operations in the 1970s following the opening of a new facility. Today, only a portion of the abandoned building remains, and it is recognized as a national monument. Visitors go here to see the surviving architectural elements of the city's 19th-century industrial infrastructure.

The site is located within the central area of Katowice. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short walk of approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Visit Duration

Because only a part of the building remains and it is an exterior landmark, allow 20 to 30 minutes to view the structure.

When to Visit

The site is an outdoor landmark, making it accessible at any time of day. It is best visited during daylight hours for visibility of the masonry. There are no specific peak crowds associated with this location.
