Mardinli Mosque

Mardinli Mosque

Overview

The site consists of the ruins of a former Shia mosque in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Visitors come to observe the remaining stone structure, view historical religious masonry, and learn about the region's past.

Getting There

The location is accessible from the city centre on foot in roughly 10 to 15 minutes. For regional travelers, Ganja International Airport (GNJ) serves as the nearest air hub, followed by ground transit into the district.

Time to Allow

Set aside 15 to 30 minutes for a visit. Because the building is in ruins, exploring the surviving exterior walls and ground perimeter does not take long.

When to Go

Visit during daylight hours, as the outdoor site lacks artificial lighting and terrain around the masonry can be uneven. Spring and autumn provide the mildest weather for walking. The area rarely sees heavy foot traffic and is unlikely to be crowded.

Nearby Attractions

You can combine a visit with several other historic points of interest within walking distance:

  • Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque (0.1km)
  • Saatli Mosque (0.2km)
  • Haji Yusifli Mosque (0.2km)
  • Khan Cave (0.2km)
