Mount Jali Hill

Located in the Gasabo district on the outskirts of Kigali, this hill reaches an elevation of 2,071 meters. It is one of the highest points surrounding the capital city. Visitors go to the summit to see the city skyline and the surrounding landscape. The peak is also the site of a solar power plant and several transmission towers.

Getting There

The site is accessible from Kigali city centre via taxi or ride-sharing services. Depending on traffic conditions, the drive typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

Most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours at the summit, which is sufficient time to observe the views and the utility installations.

When to Visit

Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat and to see the city under different lighting. The weather is generally mild, though the rainy seasons can obscure visibility from the peak.
