What It Is
Mona is a residential and academic neighborhood situated approximately 8 kilometers from central Kingston. Formerly a sugarcane plantation, the district now houses the primary campus of the University of the West Indies. Travelers go to walk the open grounds, view remaining colonial-era structures such as historic aqueducts, and experience the neighborhood's relaxed academic environment.
